The corporate sponsorship helped bring “A New England Sampler,” to the Caribou Performing Arts Center, Nov. 7, with all proceeds going to the “Healthy You” program.
Maine humorist Tim Sample, legendary singer/songwriter Noel Paul Stookey (of Peter, Paul, and Mary), and RCA recording artists The Shaw Brothers provided an evening of humor and music at the Caribou Performing Arts Center with all proceeds from the show going toward funding “Healthy You.”
Since its inception in April, 2008, more than 7,000 participants have attended more than 120 diverse wellness programs that have been offered through “Healthy You.” With corporate sponsorship from KeyBank and in partnership with several local recreation departments, schools, businesses, and civic groups, all “Healthy You” programs are provided free of charge and open to the general public in six communities, including Caribou, Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield, Van Buren, Washburn and Limestone.
“KeyBank’s recent sponsorship of ‘A New England Sampler’ will allow us to expand “Healthy You” and to deliver even more free educational programs throughout Aroostook County,” said Kim Jones, “Healthy You” program director at Cary Medical Center. Topics covered by the programs have included financial planning, disease prevention, physical fitness, parenting, stress management, prescription assistance, and personal enrichment.
“Our goal is to provide education and activities that can help improve a person’s overall wellbeing,” said Jones. “Physical health is certainly important, but we also address the mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of wellness too.”
