This 12 to 14 week old kitten has had an extremely difficult start in life. According to Norma Milton, President of the Halfway Home Pet Rescue, Mikey came to the shelter starved, frozen, covered with fleas and ticks and filled with roundworms and tapeworms. He was given immediate medical attention. Only his eyes said “I’m not ready to die,” and those eyes were wild with fear. Mikey has obviously been “kicked around,” literally, and although he holds back a bit fearfully from humans, he is delighted when you actually pick him up for a slow cuddle. How dear can he be? He adores a tummy rub, a rub behind his ear or under his jaw as a gift from heaven. Mikey is leukemia tested, first shot and treated for all parasites He will be available for adoption in 3 weeks after he has had a recheck on all previous problem issues. Mikey will be a wonderful pet for a family with loving patience who will help him learn to play and give him a little time to adjust to a new environment. After a short adjustment period of gentle living, Milton believes that Mikey will be as full of playfullness as any young kitten — but even more sweetly grateful. His adoption fee is $40.00. Anyone interested in bringing Mikey into their home should call 492-1722 for more information.
