Image    HODGDON — Karen Sattler was chosen as Mill Pond School’s staff member for the month of November. Sattler coordinates the after-school program and invests a tremendous amount of time and energy into this program. The success of this program speaks volumes about her creativity, organization, and “heart” for the program.
In addition, she is employed as an Educational Technician in the Title IA program at the middle school. She supports learning for students needing additional academic support in Language Arts and Mathematics. Some of the comments written by students and colleagues about Karen included the following:
“She helps kids above and beyond; she forms relationships with kids who really need it; she puts her heart and soul into our kids; she is always doing little things to brighten the day of her colleagues; she’s always cheerful and a wonderful cook.”
Sattler is also involved in her church and community as youth leader, singing in the choir, and various other activities. She writes numerous small grants, which provide many activities, equipment, and supplies for our students. Her presence in our school and community is invaluable, according to principal Clark Rafford.
