Thompson-Hamel, Smith’s Farm team to donate to Catholic Charities of Maine

    PRESQUE ISLE – During the month of December, employees of Thompson-Hamel, LLC and Smith’s Farm set up a box in their offices to collect cash and food donations for Catholic Charities Maine. On Dec. 18, Brian Hamel, managing partner of Thompson-Hamel, LLC, represented the two firms at Catholic Charities’ facility in Caribou and presented its Executive Director, Dixie Shaw, with these very generous donations.

    “We were very impressed with the regional impact of the Aroostook County branch of Catholic Charities Maine and how they touch the lives of thousands of our citizens in need,” said Hamel, “and it was our pleasure to play a part in helping out our fellow County citizens.”
    Catholic Charities Maine Home Supplies is a project that offers home supplies, furniture, appliances and some building materials at a fraction of their cost to residents of Aroostook County. All proceeds go toward helping run Catholic Charities Maine’s food bank, which serves 24 food pantries throughout Aroostook County. Through the generosity of individuals and businesses throughout Maine, Catholic Charities is able to assist some of the neediest citizens of Aroostook County through its food bank. Every community in Aroostook County is serviced by one of Catholic Charities’ affiliated food pantries. Any person needing food assistance can contact the Catholic Charities office in Caribou for information on a food pantry in their community.
    The Home Supplies Thrift Store offers a wide variety of household items, furniture and appliances. All items are donated by homeowners and businesses throughout the state and every dollar spent in the thrift store helps run its food bank.
