New EPA lead training for contractors/landlords

    Beginning April 2010, contractors and landlords performing work on pre-1978 homes, child care facilities and schools must be certified by EPA and follow specific work practices.     Training will be held on March 11 and 12 at the Presque Isle ACAP building next to Walmart. The cost of the eight-hour initial training is $70. Vouchers are available for landlords to attend for $25.
    The cost of the four-hour refresher training for those individuals who have already attended a Lead Smart Renovator will be $25.
