Christian-Muslim classes to be offered

PRESQUE ISLE – Christians and Muslims share several points of faith, yet many Americans do not understand the basic tenants of the faith of Islam.

As a way to help educate the community, a Wednesday evening series entitled “Fostering a Christian-Muslim Understanding, sponsored by St. John’s Episcopal Church and PRISM, will be held from Feb. 24-March 31. The series will be held at the church, located at the corner of Second and Academy street in Presque Isle.
A soup supper will be provided at 5:30 p.m., vespers at 6 p.m., and the program and discussion with Chaplain Jim Morgan from 6:15-7:15 p.m.
Topics include: Our roots of faith in Abraham (Feb. 24), Honoring the Law of Moses (March 3), Living Life for the God of Abraham (March 10), Islam without Jihad (March 17), Jesus’ Birth and teaching in the Qu’ran (March 24) and Jesus, the passion, and Islam (March 31).
