Claus to showcase photography
at Wintergreen Arts Center
PRESQUE ISLE – Lauren Claus will be exhibiting a photography show titled “Places of Color” in the Barresi Financial Art Gallery at the Wintergreen Arts Center throughout the month of April. A public opening party will be held at the Wintergreen Arts Center, located at 149 State St. in Presque Isle, Saturday, April 3 from 7:30-9 p.m. Claus’ work will be available for purchase with 20 percent of all sales donated directly to the Wintergreen Arts Center. The show, which is open to the public, will run from April 3-30. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon.
The exhibit features 16 photographs from places in Maine, China, New York, New Jersey and Florida. Each photograph offers a colorful glimpse of the world, from the cool grays of an abandoned Maine farmhouse to the deep blues of China.
“The place we live shapes us; it makes us who we are,” said Claus. “Color is the most basic form of that description; it defines our world.”
Claus is an up-and-coming photographer from New Jersey. She recently moved to Presque Isle to pursue her career as a television director. She works as the evening director at WAGM. In her spare time, she likes to explore new places with her camera.
