Sign-ups for the Houlton Area Little League for all age divisions will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (April 5 -7) at the Houlton Rec from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Little League baseball players (ages 7-12) must live in Houlton, Hammond, Ludlow or New Limerick.
Little League softball players (ages 9-12), and Junior/Senior League baseball players (ages 13-16) must live anywhere within the Houlton or Hodgdon school districts.
The cost is $45 per player. For families with more than one player, the costs are:  two players, $40 each; three or more players, $35 each.
The League will be continuing its “Minor League Division” (7-11 year olds) to go along with the “Majors Division” (9-12 year olds). The “Minors” division will include boys and girls as young as 7 years old if they are selected at the free clinic/tryouts. Players must turn seven before May 1 and there is no cost for player’s age 7 and 8 until after the free clinic/tryout.  If they are selected, the 7- or 8-year -olds will then pay the League fee, and will then be placed in the “Minors “division.
Players of all ages should still sign up prior to the tryouts/clinics. No players age 9 and older will be cut.  Boys ages 9-11 may be placed in the “Minors” or “Majors” divisions.
Boys age 12 will be placed in the “Majors” division only. Girls age 9-12 will be in the softball “Majors” division.
Minors/Majors baseball division cut-off date is May 1, as players must be at least 7 before that date.  Players turning 13 before May 1 will only be eligible for Junior League play, later in the spring.
Majors girls softball division cut-off date is Jan. 1, as players must be at least 9 before that date.  Players turning 13 before Jan 1, will not be eligible for Little League softball play this season.
