LL tourney starts Saturday

    The 9-10 Little League All-star Tournament will begin this weekend at the two new Houlton fields — Savings Bank of Maine and Rotary Field — which are adjacent to Houlton Southside School and Houlton Elementary School.
     The tournament opens on Saturday, with eight games and eight more games on Sunday. This is a 16-team double-elimination tournament, with all of the games being played in Houlton.
    Concessions will be available throughout the tournament.
    Playing for the Houlton 9-10-year-old all-stars are: Zachary Hagan, Patrick Howe, Isaiah Bouchard, Nate Mooers, Abe Lorom, Colby Callnan, Dylan Buzzell, Nick Perfitt, Zachary Cowperthwaite, Andrew Tuttle, Sam Lilley, Andrew Marino and Lucas Porter. Alternate is Nolan Porter, while the manager is Moose Karnes and the coaches are Barry Lorom and Chris Mooers.
    The schedule for Saturday is as follows: 9 a.m., Lincoln vs. Hampden; 10 a.m., Sabasticook vs. Old Town; 11 a.m., Orrington vs. Bangor West; 12 p.m., Carmel vs. Katahdin Valley; 1 p.m., Holbrook vs. Hermon; 2 p.m., Houlton vs. Glenburn; 3 p.m., Border League vs. Bangor East and 4 p.m., Millinocket vs. Brewer.
