FAITHFUL VOLUNTEER — Little Hannah McGary has been a real trooper helping beautify Millstream Park in Merrill. Her mother, Misty McGary, is just behind the bush where they were planting shrubs.

A new stage got a workout June 12 when local artists, Randy Rockwell and Krista Nelson performed a free gospel concert for volunteers who spent the day planting trees, shrubs and flowers. Town Manager Candy Nevers said the music was wonderful and people enjoyed visiting with each other as they worked to improve the park.
Volunteers needed Friday
The last planting day before fall is scheduled for Friday, July 9 from 5 p.m. until dark. Nevers said anyone who wants to purchase a memorial tree or shrub can do so until Thursday, July 8. To make arrangements, contact Nevers at the town office: 757-8286.
Nevers added that memorial plaques will be sold in the future to recognize a loved one.
