Whited:
Customers a priority
From passenger vehicles to big rigs, Whited Auto & Truck Center is ready to provide the service you need, regardless of make, model or size of your ride.
The business, owned by Bob Whited, of Bangor, is located at 17 Houlton Road, Presque Isle.
The Presque Isle branch, managed by Glen Mahan in service and Mark Bragg in parts, has been in operation 17 years.
Mahan said the center prides itself on its customer service.
“Service and customer satisfaction can make or break a business,” said Mahan, adding, “We’ve built up a good customer base but we always have room for more. Our number-one concern — if you don’t have repeat business, you won’t have a business. Up here, everything’s word-of-mouth.”
Whited handles vehicles of all shapes and sizes, from passenger cars to 18-wheelers.
“We do maintenance on cars, pickups, RVs and big trucks. We work on every make and model — American, foreign. We work on buses, you name it — everything in-between,” said Mahan. “We do everything, A-Z. We work on engines, tires, brakes, front-end work. We’ve also added Peterbilt trucks to our product line.”
Mahan credits his staff’s dedication to the company for seeing repeat customers.
“One good thing we have is a strong work ethic in the shop. The guys have been with the company up to 15 or 16 years. We don’t have a huge turnaround,” said Mahan.
“Customers get to know and trust the people working on their vehicles,” he continued.
Work is competitively priced and staff stands behind their work.
“We stand behind everything we do 100 percent,” said Mahan, noting, “customer satisfaction is our number-one priority.”
“Most of our advertising is by word-of-mouth in Aroostook County. A satisfied customer is a great advertisement for us,” he said.
The business is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 7 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact 764-7300 or 227-7300.
