WASHBURN — The Washburn Republican Committee is pleased to announce the opening of the Washburn Coordinated Campaign Headquarters located at 1269 Main St. The Washburn Republican Committee will be hosting the grand opening on Sept. 17 from 4-6 p.m.
John Churchill, chairman of the Washburn Republican Committee, gave the following statement: “As a former state representative, I understand the importance of organizing efforts to elect our state officials. The office is the first of its kind in Washburn, and it will give all candidates running for state office a place to reach out to the voters to hear their concerns and ideas.”
The Washburn office will be used for volunteer activities and will serve as a gathering place to meet the candidates for state senate and the house of representatives.
Churchill continued, “Now is the time for communities to come together to put Maine back on the right track. For nearly 40 years, Augusta has been mismanaged, and it is time to put the people of Maine first. For too long, small towns have not had a say in Maine politics. Our state candidates will fight for small towns in Aroostook County and will not forget them. It is for this reason, we have decided to place our office in Washburn.”
Candidates running for office on the state level in Washburn include gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage, state Senate candidate Daniel Deveau and House candidate Alexander Willette. For more information on any of the above candidates, visit during the office opening or stop by anytime.
