Daigle Oil to offer propane

FORT KENT — Daigle Oil Co. (DOC), based in Fort Kent, is pleased to announce that it will be offering DOC Propane to current and new customers in the spring of 2011. According to owners Rick Daigle and Dan Vaillancourt, adding propane to the company’s energy product line demonstrates their commitment to keeping up with market demand in order to better service customers.

“Over the years, many customers, businesses and potential customers have inquired when DOC will begin providing propane as an additional means of energy to the communities we serve,” said Daigle. “Extensive market research and analysis led us to the decision to move forward with this exciting project. We look forward to growing the energy portion of our business and taking yet another step toward improving the company’s competitiveness.”
DOC Propane will be available for residential, commercial and industrial use by May of 2011. Vaillancourt said the project is expected to be completed within eight months, allowing adequate time for employee training and facility construction.
Hired to lead the company’s efforts to launch DOC Propane is Russ Michaud. As the manager of propane business and development, Michaud will be responsible for directing and overseeing multiple phases of the transition, including training, compliance, safety, operations and marketing.
Michaud’s extensive propane background was extremely attractive to DOC. His level of experience – coupled with various propane CETP certifications and Maine state licenses – will be a true asset to the successful growth and development of DOC Propane. Michaud comes to DOC from Tarantin Tank and Equipment, where he has worked as the northeast account manager since 2002.
