Students, faculty of CHS donates 38 boxes of food to Caribou Soup Kitchen

The freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior homerooms at Caribou High School have been collecting foodstuff for the past three weeks, according to Kenneth Atcheson, CHS staff member and National Honor Society adviser.

On Tuesday, Dec. 21, the 38-member NHS, accompanied by Atcheson delivered 38 boxes of food to the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen in Caribou, for its use during the holiday season. A cash contribution was also donated at this time.

“This food drive is a friendly competition between the various CHS homerooms,” said Atcheson.

The 2010 winning homeroom was 217, under the guidance of Mrs. Linda Mazerolle. Room 217 students will be treated to a special visit by Saint Nicholas, delivering a bit of holiday cheer today.

This year students and staff at Caribou High School collected a total value of more than $2,000 in food items.

Students Elizabeth Keaton and Jacob Atcheson served as committee chairs for the event which is sponsored each year by the CHS National Honor Society.
