The Vikings, coached by Brandi Makepeace, scored 101.9 points in the event.

Hermon won with 150.6 points,  followed by Ellsworth with  136.8  and Presque Isle with 123.9.

Other team scores from the competition were: 4, John Bapst, 120.5; 5, Waterville, 114.8; 6, Nokomis, 113.2; 7, Old Town, 111.5; 8, Bucksport, 103.7; 9, Caribou, 101.9; 10, Mt. Desert Island, 101; 11, Mt. View, 97.4; and 12, Mattanawcook Academy, 94. The top six squads advance to the state competition.

Members of the Caribou squad include: seniors, Kyle McEwen, Hannah Saucier, Giulia Papini, Sarah Peterson and Elainee Norris; juniors, Natasha Bishop, Elsa Thibodeau, Jamie St. Peter, Ashley Clark and Jessica Devoe; sophomores, Jennifer Blaisdell, Sabrina Haney, Elizabeth Dionne, Gabrielle Ingersoll and Brianna Marte; and freshmen, Melanie Biggs, Sophia Maile, Rebecca Malm and Mariesa Sarmiento.

Central Aroostook won its fourth consecutive Class D title.

CAHS’ score of 127.5 easily outdistanced second-place Jonesport-Beals (108.1). Rounding out the scoring in the Class D event were: Deer Isle-Stonington, 106.1; Machias, 101.7; Rangeley, 96.7; Buckfield, 96; and Fort Fairfield, 85.3.

The Class D Regional competition featured squads from both the East and West areas competing in the same event. Only the top six squads advanced to the state competition in Bangor Saturday, Feb. 12, so the Tigers did not make the cut.

Members of the Fort Fairfield squad, which is coached by Jennifer Berube, include senior Amanda Holton; juniors Lindsey Graves, Ashley Parady, Ashley Johnston and Saki Iwaya; and freshmen Madeline Martin and Shania Nordbrook.
