The wind was blowing and the temperature was anything but warm, as members and volunteers with the Caribou Friends of Scouting spent their weekend putting the trusses up on the new Friends of Scouting Hall in Caribou. From left are Troy Laplante, Vaughn Keaton, Dave Belyea and Scott Jackson.
According to Vaughn Keaton, Scoutmaster of Caribou Boy Scout Troop 184, the rapid success of the raising of the Scout lodge has been the result of more than 3,000 hours of time generously donated by members of the Caribou Friends of Scouting, local business professionals and the Boy Scouts.
Keaton stated that the Friends of Scouting’s goal is to have the new hall finished on the inside by sometime in April, with the completion of the exterior work done by July. An open house is tentatively scheduled for August, with the first Eagle Scout Reunion also on the agenda during that same time.
