Tourney games to be broadcast

    PORTLAND – Time Warner Cable and the Maine Public Broadcasting Network are teaming up once again to show live games from the Maine Principals Association’s Girls and Boys High School Basketball State Tournament.
    Time Warner Cable and MPBN will air 49 games from the Bangor Auditorium, Augusta Civic Center and Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland. The live broadcasts will begin Wednesday, Feb. 23 and continue through the Class B championship games on Friday, March 4, and the Class A, C and D championships on Saturday, March 5.
    “Maine’s high school basketball tournaments are one of the state’s great traditions, and our employees are proud to partner with MPBN to bring these exciting games to our Maine customers,” said Paul S. Schonewolf, area vice president for Time Warner Cable. “Televising these games brings value to our customers and is one of the many ways we connect our customers with information, entertainment and each other.”
    The games will be shown on TWC TV (channel 9) and MPBN (channels 3, 10 or 13, depending on location) and on digital channels 170, 171, 180 or 181, depending on location. In addition, the eight state championship games will be available on Time Warner Cable’s TWC TV On Demand channel.
