The Windham Chamber Singers will perform a concert on Saturday, April 30 at St. Mary’s Church, 6 Roberts Street at 7 p.m.
The Windham Chamber Singers gained international attention in 1996 when they won The Prize of Vienna at the International Youth Music Festival in Vienna, Austria. Since then they have performed in major concert venues including Carnegie Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the White House.
Each year, the choir tours the northeast, presenting assemblies and workshops at area schools in addition to public concerts. The Presque Isle concert will be their final appearance of a five-day tour of central and northern Maine. The group is conducted by Dr. Richard Nickerson, a native of Houlton.
