WATT, Phoebe M. “Ruby”, 84, PRESQUE ISLE, April 19, 2011. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

PRESQUE ISLE – Phoebe M. “Ruby” Watt, 84, wife of the late Marvin Watt, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family, April 19, 2011, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born November 23, 1926, in Lerwick, N.B., Canada, the daughter of Dudley and Nina (Barcley) Adams.

Ruby was a long time and active member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she served in the missionary guild, the choir, the nursery and several other ministries of the church. Ruby was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Though her main focus was caring for her family, she never compromised her faith and was always ready to share in her special loving way. She and her husband owned and operated the Living Word Bookstore, on Main Street in Presque Isle for many years.

Ruby is survived by her son, Brian H. Watt of Presque Isle; three daughters: Gloria Nelson and her husband, Don of Cape Neddick, Carla McCluskey and her husband, Gary of Presque Isle, and Marvia H. Watt of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Jennifer, Kristi, Kimberly, Bethany, Robbie, and Ryan; great-grandchildren: Jazmyn, Faith and Dylan; a brother, Omar Adams of Florida; a brother-in-law, Bob Willette of Florida;  a special niece, Linda Mastro of Portage; and several other nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Marvin, she was predeceased by two great-grandsons: Ethan and Elliott; and one brother and six sisters.

Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m., Friday, at the Bethany Baptist Church, with Reverends James Ackerson and Kenneth Phelps officiating. Relatives and friends called at the church from noon until the time of the service. Interment was in the Fairmount Cemetery.
