Duct Tape Dance is May 7

Destination Imagination high-schoolers at the Limestone Community School are looking for the community’s support in their efforts to raise money for their trip to the Global Finals in Knoxville, Tenn., and they may have found the perfect way to make their fundraising stick in the minds of community members and fashion enthusiasts alike: they’ve coordinated a Duct Tape Dance.

Held on Saturday, May 7 at the Limestone Community School gymnasium from 7-11 p.m., the Duct Tape Dance is all about adorning the adhesive on apparel or creating clothing entirely of the sticky stuff.

Admission to the dance is even discounted for individuals wearing duct tape outfits, $5 for individual wearing duct tape and $15 for a group of four donning duct tape garb.

Dance-goers who choose not to participate in the theme are still welcome to attend at $7 an individual and $20 for a group of four.

Aside from providing a fashionable event with plenty of good tunes, good time will also be ample through the evening’s Chinese Auction.

The Limestone upper-level DI students are also holding school-wide fundraisers this week, including penny wars and another duct tape event on Friday, where the principals and some staff members of the school have graciously agreed to be duct taped to a gym wall … the DI team will be auctioning off pies that can be planted in the faces of the duct-taped victims in order to raise funds for the cause.
