MARS HILL NEWS
by Tomi Henderson
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met on Tuesday morning, May 24, at 6:30 at the Aroostook Health Center.
Rotarian Steve Cheney spoke about the upcoming ninth annual Mars Hill Rotary Golf Tournament, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26. A practice round on Friday, June 24, is included.
This year’s tournament will be in memory of Richard May (The Rocket), who has traveled to Mars Hill for this tournament for many years, bringing more friends with him each year.
Awards will be given for Low Gross, Low Net, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive and Hole in One. The entry fee is $65 for non-members and $55 for members.
If you would like to sponsor this tournament, there are several levels: Gold — $500, Silver — $250 and Bronze — $100. As a sponsor, your name would be on a sign placed at one of the 18 holes. For more information or to register, contact the Mars Hill Rotary Club at P. O. Box 521, Mars Hill, ME 04758.

Posing with Det. John Cote, MSP, following his special haircut during a fundraiser for his son-in-law, Evan Bretzke — who recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma — are,
in front from left: Evan and Alishia Bretzke, Cote and Matthew Crane.
In the back are some fellow members of the police force, from the left: Lt. Mark Brooks, Sgt. Brian Harris, Det. Darrin Crane, Sheriff Ross McQuade and Det. Sgt. Troy Gardner. It was noted that some of the pictured folks that were laughing at John for having no hair do NOT have the option of having their own grow back like John’s will!!
