PI rec team wins County title
The Caribou Recreation Department wrapped up their County Baseball Tournament on August 3 with a fantastic pitchers’ dual between Fort Fairfield’s Ryan Player and Presque Isle’s Sam Gray.

COUNTY CHAMPS — The Presque Isle Recreation Department’s Major League travel team recently won the County Championship. Gray had 10 strikeouts and gave up two hits to Carter Bruce and Chris Giberson.
Fort’s Player pitched a great game as well only allowing 2 runs, 2 hits and striking out 9 batters. Gray and Brycen Libby both scored for Presque Isle.
With not many base runners, the game moved along very quick with Presque Isle winning the 2011 County Pee Wee Championship 2 to 0.
Eight teams from Caribou, Ashland, Mapleton, Easton, Mars Hill, Madawaska, Presque Isle and Fort Fairfield took part.
