Nomination papers available to public

Jayne Farrin, Caribou city clerk, has announced that nomination papers are now available to be picked up at the city office.  

Anyone seeking to be elected to a city position must be a registered voter in Caribou and must have nomination papers signed by at least 25 other registered Caribou voters.

The completed nomination papers must be filed with the city clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, in order to be placed on the November ballot.

Positions available include the following.

• Three 3-year term seats — city council.

• One 1-year term seat — city council.

• Two 3-year term seats — RSU 39 board of education.

• One 3-year term — Jefferson Cary memorial Hospital Foundation.
