Guard promotes Cheney
AUGUSTA — Major General John W. Libby, The Adjutant General, Maine National Guard, has announced the promotion of Gabriel Cheney, of Castle Hill, to the rank of sergeant. Cheney is a member of the 185th En. Support Company.
He was among several Aroostook County soldiers promoted in June 2011.
Hamel earns degree
WELLESLEY, MASS. — Babson College, in Wellesley, Mass., conferred bachelor of science in business management degrees on 423 students in May 2011. Among those honored was Molly Delano Hamel of Presque Isle, who earned her degree, cum laude.
Housing Authority meeting
PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will be having a special meeting at 11 a.m. on Aug. 25 to review and approve the annual Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) documents regarding FYE June 30, 2011. The meeting will be held in the Presque Isle Housing Authority boardroom located at the administrative offices at 58 Birch St.
