HOULTON, Maine — On Sunday, Sept. 25, the Pregnancy Care Center of Aroostook will hold its annual “Walk for Life” to raise funds to support the Pregnancy Care Center in Houlton Maine.
The PCC is a non-profit, non-denominational faith-based organization meeting the needs of pregnant women. All services of the PCC are offered at no cost to our clients and are confidential. Services include: pregnancy tests, maternity clothing, infants clothing, material assistance such as: diapers, wipes and toiletry items, parenting classes, counseling for women seeking healing after an abortion and a special program a woman can earn “Mommy Money” to purchase new baby furniture from Walmart or K-Mart.
“We also have a Survivor Intervention program which is designed to address the pressures of drugs, sex, alcohol, addictions and peers,” said Christie Corey of the PCC. “Your giving will help us continue to offer these services to women in the greater Houlton area.”
The “Walk for Life” is held at Greater Houlton Christian Academy.  Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. During registration there will be face painting and games for the kids. At 3:30 p.m., a police-escorted two-mile walk will be held. After the walk we will serve light refreshments.
Those who would like to walk, may download a sponsor sheet at www.pcc-hope.org. After receiving a sponsor sheet, simply ask friends, co-workers and neighbors to sponsor you; collect the money and show up on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Greater Houlton Christian Academy. Those who would like to make a donation or have any questions should contact Corey at at 554-8396.
