Newspapers create farm/forestry section
The Maine Potato News, the newspaper of the state’s potato industry and affiliated with the Maine Potato Board, is changing from a monthly to a bimonthly publication in 2012. The new publication schedule is based on the changing needs of agriculture producers and suppliers.
The combined October/November/December edition of the Maine Potato News, which is being mailed to customers this week, is the last one in 2011. The advertising deadline for the January/February 2012 edition is Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.
In a related matter, a regular “Focus on Farm and Forest” section is being added to the weekly newspapers in Caribou, Houlton and Presque Isle to better serve those important sectors of the state’s rural economy.
Businesses, agencies and organizations seeking to reach the farm, forestry and natural resources market are encouraged to place their advertising or editorial message into the — Aroostook Republican & News, the Houlton Pioneer Times and/or The Star-Herald, which cover the communities of Aroostook and parts of Penobscot and Washington counties.
