To the editor:
I am a retired, non-resident taxpayer of Orient, Maine. My wife and I own property that has been in my family since 1947.
It is difficult to understand how expenses for the town of Orient can be so out-of-control that property taxes have to nearly double in a single year. Notification of such a financial burden, with an explanation would have been helpful. That was not the case – just a bill in the mail.
What’s up Orient?
