Students of the Month named at Caribou Middle School

CARIBOU, Maine — Susan White, principal at the Caribou Middle School announced that the following students were chosen as October Students of the Month.

Gabrielle Marquis, a grade-six student was named October Student of the Month by her teachers Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier, who stated, “Gabrielle is a veryconscientious student, always giving her best effort regardless of the subject area. She is always willing to help her classmates and also her teachers when called upon.”

“A pleasure to have in class, Gabrielle is a very involved student, not only here at Caribou Middle School but outside the school as well,” said the CMS teachers. She participates in the school band and most recently was voted to represent her classmates in the Student Organization. In addition to being involved with both Dutch and recreation soccer, AYBL and rec basketball she also enjoys playing tennis.”

Michelle Nichols, a member of the CMS sixth grade, was named October Student of the Month by her teachers Ms. Sarah LaJoie and Mrs. Cathy Bouchard.

“Michelle is friendly and caring and she is always willing to help out where she is needed. She is a very hard-working student, constantly striving to do her best in all subjects.  She is also a member of the CMS band and chorus andis highly deserving of this recognition,” stated her teachers.

Kirsten Haney, a grade seven student was named October Student of the Month by her team teachers Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt, Mrs. Mary Curtis and Mr. Steve Perreault.

“Kirsten is a delightful young lady who always has a friendly smile on her face,” said the CMS teachers. “She is unfailingly kind and helpful to all the students and teachers at CMS. An excellent student, Kirsten brings a positive attitude and a strong work ethic to her classes. She enjoys music and participates in the CMS chorus,” they added.

Kaitlyn Nadeau was selected to be October Student of the Month by her seventh-grade teachers, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Rhinebolt, Mrs. Curtis and Mr. Perreault. “Academically Kaitlyn is a top-notch student who is always on the high honors and honor rolls,” stated her teachers. “She prepares all her schoolwork with immense care and dedication to detail. Kaitlyn is a pleasure to have in school and is a breath of fresh air for those who see her each day,” they added.

“At school she is a fantastic leader. She is one of the kindest and gentlest students at CMS. She will do anything to help anyone both during classes as well as just out and about in the school. She is well known for her great personality and honesty” her teachers added. “A member of the CMS band, Kaitlyn is also a good basketball player who made the seventh-grade team when she was a sixth-grader,” they added.

Colton Conley is the October Student of the Month for the eighth grade. His teachers, Mr. Travis Barnes, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mr. Troy Barnes, Mr. Ralph Fantasia and Mrs. Shannon Sleeper all agreed that, “Colton is an outstanding school citizen. He is always willing to help both students and teachers during the course of the school day.”

“His class participation surpasses expectation as he is a hard-working student. Colton participates in wrestling at CMS, plays football for the Aroostook Football League as well as Babe Ruth baseball. He also enjoys fishing and hunting,” said his teachers.

Jenna Boucher, a grade-eight student, was named October Student of the Month and by her teachers. They “view Jenna as an outstanding school citizen, a well-respected student who is quick to offer her help to faculty and peers alike.

“Jenna is an honor roll student who is involved in several extracurricular activities.”. She has been a member of the CMS band for four years and has made All-Aroostook twice, a member of the show choir for three years. She has also participated on the tennis, softball, soccer and basketball tams during her years at CMS,” they added.
