LINNEUS – Wayne Dwyer, 74, died Nov. 10, 2011, in Houlton. He was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Danforth, the son of Montie and Ruth (Faulkner) Dwyer.
He was a barber for 56 years, a member of Meduxnekeag & Dux Club, Hill Top Bowlers, and coached and played baseball for several years. Wayne was a great lover of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, etc.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Bonnie (McGuire) Dwyer of Linneus; children, Waneta Archer and her husband, Ed, of Bangor, Kenney Dwyer and his wife, Dianna, Cynthia E. Shaw and her husband, Larry, Bruce Dwyer and his wife, Candace, all of Linneus, Peggy Gentle and her husband, Rick, of Hermon, Meredith McKissick and her husband, Scott, of Orient, Tyler Dwyer and Dawson Shaw, both of Linneus; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Dwyer and his wife, Hope, of New Limerick; and sisters, Linda Palmer of Weston, Sarah McGuire and her husband, Doug, of Linneus and Mary Wiley of Danforth. He was predeceased by his parents; and a daughter, Marion Sanford.
Friends called 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Interment was at Linneus Cemetery. For an online memory book, please visit www.bowersfuneral.com.
