HAWKSLEY, Aileen E., 75, MARS HILL, January 10, 2012. A graveside service will be held in the Spring of 2012 at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Arrangements in care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.
MARS HILL – Aileen E. Hawksley, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday night, January 10, 2012, surrounded by her family, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born in Knoxford, NB, Canada, the daughter of Frank and Ica (Bartley) Burk. She was raised in Royalton, NB, and was a graduate of Centreville High School in 1955. Aileen worked as a cook at Smith’s Truck Stop in Blaine for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Ray Hawksley and his wife, Laura of Jamaica, VT, and Rick Hawksley of Mars Hill; three daughters, Shari Snow of Plymouth, Sandy Smith and her husband, Kevin of Gorham, and Susie Polk and her husband, Jim of Lincoln; ten grandchildren, Sarah Hawksley, John Hawksley and his wife, Amber and Josh Hawksley, Justin and Gillian Snow, Carly Smith and her fiance, Mike Joyce, Gabrielle and Erik Smith, Lindsay and Jared Flewelling.
She was predeceased by her parents, and the father of her children, Lewis Hawksley.
A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2012 at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Those who wish may donate in her memory to an animal shelter of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill. Online condolences may be expressed at Duncan-graves.com
