HOULTON – Ruth “Bunny” O’Hara, 63, went to be with her Lord Feb. 19, 2012, at her home. She was born Oct. 11, 1948, in Washburn, daughter of Charles and Ruby (Mooney) Sanderson.
Bunny was a licensed practical nurse, doing private duty homecare for several years and also worked at Community Living Association. She was a “Chemo Angel.” She also had been a member of the community chorus, as well as the choirs at United Methodist Church and Houlton Wesleyan Church. She played piano and violin, and always had season tickets to the Bangor Symphony. She was a very thoughtful, caring person as well as an avid pet lover.
She is survived by her husband, Michael O’Hara of Houlton; one sister, Barbara Burnham of Bridgton; sister-in-law, Nancy Sanderson of Linneus; brother-in-law, Jack Story of California; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with the Rev Naomi Sam-Kpakra officiating. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
