Olivia Raymond of Island Falls has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award.
This award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amount of their time to service their communities and their country, was presented by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of President Barack Obama.
Raymond participated in the Spirit of Community program this year as a representative of Southern Aroostook Community School in Dyer Brook where she is a student. She is the daughter of Eric and Angela Raymond.
Raymond earned her award by volunteering at Mountain Heights Nursing Home in Patten. She also volunteered over 60 hours at Massachusetts General Hospital last summer.
SACS Principal Jon Porter said, “Olivia is an outstanding young lady. Her character and willingness to give back to her community, makes her an outstanding role model for her peers. We are extremely proud of her accomplishments.”
