LIMESTONE – Linda G. Edgecomb, 72, wife of Reginald W. Edgecomb Sr., passed away Tuesday evening, February 21, 2012, at her Limestone residence, after an extended illness. She was born January 7, 1940, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Franklin G. “Sonny” and Olive M. (Russell) Griffeth.
A lifelong resident of Limestone, Linda graduated from the Limestone High School, Class of 1957, and was married to Reginald W. Edgecomb on October 25, 1958. Linda had been a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church for more than fifty years, where she served on the Board of Trustees, and also was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Edgecomb played an active role in family farm operations, was a wonderful cook and a lover of all animals. She will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by one son, Reginald W. Edgecomb Jr. on April 2, 1998; one daughter, Darci D. Edgecomb on March 6, 2002.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Reginald of Limestone; two sons, Cameron H. Edgecomb and his wife, Pamela of Lewiston, and Brent E. Edgecomb of Limestone; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John F. and Becky Griffeth of Caribou, Paul B. and Doreen Griffeth of Limestone; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Asa Cook, Thalia Jane and Gary Tuck, Priscilla and Donn Doughty, Catherine and Thomas Kilcollins, all of Fort Fairfield; four grandchildren, Matthew Grass of Presque Isle, Gretchen Edgecomb of Portland, Brandi Edgecomb of Bangor, and Morgan Edgecomb of Lewiston; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Bob Schrum of Limestone, Larry and Marie Edgecomb of Whitesburg, TN, Joanne and Michael Cellini of Windsor, CT, and Donna Roix of Pinellas Park, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends called Saturday, February 25, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service was conducted Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Limestone United Methodist Church, 52 Main Street, with the Pastor Ellen Cleaves officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held in the church dining room after the service. Interment will take place at the Advent Cemetery, Limestone, later in the spring.
