Caribou and Freeport – Dean Gerard Levasseur, 24, died unexpectedly April 22, 2012, at Howland. He was born in Presque Isle February 11, 1988, the son of Daniel Levasseur and Deanna Cyr. He was 2006 graduate of Caribou High School and attended the New England School of Communications as well as Southern Maine Community College. Dean was a self-employed musician and was a member of the band Roots, Rhythm & Dub. Dean was an accomplished musician, who loved nature and had a true passion for music and the arts. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. If you ever met Dean, you liked him; if you ever knew Dean, you loved him.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Freeport and his father of Caribou are his brother, David Adam Levasseur of Caribou; his sister, Deidra Mae Levasseur and her husband, Nathan Oliver of Montreal, Canada; his grandmothers, Bernadette Levasseur and Rowena Cyr both of Caribou; his aunts and uncles; J.P. Levasseur, Bill Levasseur, Mary McGlinn, Steve, Ken, Trina and Ryan Cyr; his nephew and niece, Matthias and Isobel as well as many cousins and many many friends. Dean was predeceased by his grandfathers, Fernand Cyr and Gerard J. Levasseur.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 7-9 p.m Monday. A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
