Thoughts from Girl Scout Troop No. 735, Hodgdon Mill Pond School

With the Girl Scouts celebrating their 100th anniversary, members of the local troop No. 735 at Hodgdon Mill Pond wrote down their thoughts about their involvement.
“My experience with Girl Scouts has been fun. I have gone to camp with all my friends. I have done a lot of fun badges with my troop. I got to sell a lot of cookies and meet new people while doing it. I have also got to spend more time with all of my friends, and I’ve had lots of fun with them, too.” By Sidney Crane
“Girl Scouts is about helping people and the community and having fun. You do things like skiing, cooking, hiking, swimming, camping, and taking trips. We earn badges by helping, exercising, and much more.”  By Hannah Elland
“Our Girl Scout experience has been great. I have been a Girl Scout for three years, and I love it! This has been a great journey from going to Camp Natarswi to A.E. Howell’s wildlife sanctuary. We also do Girl Scout cookie booth sales where we stay at a store and sell awesome cookies. Cookie rallies are a great place where you meet up with other girls in this area and learn the safety of cookie selling. My favorite part of Girl Scouts is selling Girl Scout cookies. I’m looking forward to our end of the year trip.” By Janelle Goff
“My Girl Scout experience has been great. It was so fun going to camp. I have got to meet lots of new people and do a lot of activities that I normally wouldn’t have the chance to do. We get to take trips and visit new places, such as going to Camp Natarswi and Arthur Howell’s, and I get to do it with all of my friends.” By Sydney Howell
“Girl Scouts is a lot of fun. At the World Thinking Day, I got to meet a lot of new people. When you go to the camps, you do a lot of fun activities such as rock climbing, swimming, archery and crafts.” By Sarah Hutchinson
“When I went to Camp Natarswi for a week, I had a lot of fun kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and more even though there were bugs at night! My friends and I had lots of fun at the campfires. We learn songs, and once we made dinner over the fire. I had a lot of fun at Camp Natarswi.” By Lexi McGuire
“Girl Scouts is super fun. You help others which makes you feel good. I’ve learned things and tried new things.  The camp was super fun and we get to do projects. We get to go outdoors and different places! My favorite part about it is the cookies!” By Jordyn McKissick
“From when I started Girl Scouts with troop No. 735, I have had a wonderful experience. We have gone to Arthur Howell’s, Camp Natarswi, and many more exciting trips together. I’m looking forward to spending many more great times as a Girl Scout with my troop.” By Madisyn Merritt
“My friends and I have done tons of fun stuff in girl scouts. We have been to Arthur Howell’s and Camp Natarswi. I think cookie rallies are the best because you can sell cookies after. I love being a Girl Scout!” By Addie Woods
