As director of investor and community relations, his role will be to develop and implement programs that promote APP and NMDC missions, serve as the point of contact for media relations and develop programs and projects to educate Aroostook County businesses, communities and citizens about APP and NMDC services, programs and projects.
“Jon has a wealth of experience in the media, knows a great deal about The County and most of the key players, and has tremendous passion and energy — he, like me, ‘wants to make a difference’ in growing the opportunities in northern Maine,” said Bob Dorsey, president and CEO of APP. “I see Jon’s role as helping APP and NMDC educate the county as to our mission and services, working with investors to generate interest in the partnership, and helping us engage in and implement the elements of the APP business retention and business growth strategy.”
“Jon has been covering NMDC activities for many years and is very knowledgeable of the issues and opportunities in The County, his expertise in the media field and his knowledge of the region will help communities, businesses and citizens to better understand the services that are available to them at NMDC,” said Robert Clark, executive director of NMCC.
“I am excited to be working with a group of individuals who are dedicated to bettering economic conditions in the region,” said Gulliver.
His first day on the job was May 23.    Gulliver, who grew up in Houlton, lives in Presque Isle with his fiancée, Cindy, and their 16-year-old daughter.
