PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The American Red Cross will be offering Wilderness and Remote First Aid training June 16-17 at The Aroostook Medical Center from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Prerequisite to take the class is a current adult CPR/AED certification and be at least 14 years old on or before the last class. To register, call 1-800-733-2767. The cost of the course is $110 which includes materials and class supplies and is paid at the time of registration.
The Wilderness and Remote First Aid class is written to provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services response. This includes wilderness and remote environments including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and tornadoes.
Call and register today. Space is limited and organizers anticipate it will book quickly. If you do not have a current CPR certification, there is an adult CPR/AED scheduled for Friday, June 15 at TAMC. Persons can register for this class by calling 1-800-733-2767.
