Marine Reserve Training Center to be dedicated in Lt. Zimmerman’s memory

    On Sunday, Aug. 12, the U.S. Marine Reserve Training Center at Brunswick Naval Air Base will be dedicated in honor of First Lt. James R. Zimmerman.
    The U.S. Marine Reserve Training Center was moved from Topsham to Brunswick.
    The dedication and naming of the building in memory of Lt. Zimmerman will be at 1 p.m.
    Lt. Zimmerman, a Smyrna resident, was killed in action by small arms fire during combat operations in Afghanistan on Nov. 2, 2010.
    Lt. Zimmerman is the son of Jane and Tom Zimmerman of Smyrna.
