The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department’s “Just for Kids” playground have nominated their choices for Peanut Carnival King and Queen. The candidates are, from left, front, Calli Sylvia and Sean Crouse, ages 5-6; back, Trinity Randall and Collin Moody, ages 7-8; Elisabeth Desrosiers and Noah Reynolds, ages 9-10; and Grace Desrosiers and Cameron Stevens, ages 11-13. The Peanut Carnival parade will be held today at 10 a.m. through Market Square, with the Peanut Carnival tomorrow from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Street tennis courts. In case of rain, the games will be moved inside the rec center. The highlight of the evening will be the Queen’s Court and crowning of the 2012 Peanut King and Queen will be at 8 p.m. in the gym of the Houlton Recreation Department.
