Caribou and Washburn — Wayne Alan Carter, 36, died unexpectedly August 13, 2012, at Caribou as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Caribou November 16, 1975, the son of the Alan and E. Anne (Corey) Carter. Wayne was a 1994 graduate of Washburn District High School as well as Northern Maine Community College. He was employed as the station manager for Daigle Oil in Caribou where he was employed for over 20 years.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Washburn are son, Marcus Carter of Caribou; his sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Scott Dow of Caribou; a niece, Hannah Dow; a nephew, Mitchell Dow; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Wayne was predeceased by his grandparents, Ray and Glennis Carter and Danny and Katherine Corey.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. A graveside service was held 1 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012, from the Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn with Rev. Bruce Blakney, officiating. Following the service all were invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Washburn Pentecostal Church. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
