PRESQUE ISLE — Voters will have several decisions to make at the local level come November, with vacancies on both the City Council and SAD 1 school board.
City Council has two four-year terms available, while SAD 1 has openings for three-year terms, including districts: 3, 4, 7, 10, 13, 14 and 15.
On City Council, Jessica Chase-Smith and Richard “Dick” Engels were elected last fall to one-year terms. It will be up to citizens to determine who will fill their seats. There has been no indication if either councilor will be running for re-election.
Nomination papers became available Aug. 13 at City Hall, with papers due back to the city clerk by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21.
