FLORA, Barbara, 87, PRESQUE ISLE, September 19, 2012. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Barbara Flora, 87, passed away on Wed., Sept. 19, 2012, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born on Sept. 9, 1925, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Carl and Harriet (Scribner) Weick. She was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono in 1947 and later attended Katherine Gibbs College in Boston. She worked for a number of years as an administrative assistant at Maine Public Service in Presque Isle. After raising a family in Presque Isle, she and her husband lived for several years in Virginia and later in Florida.  During that time, she regularly attended meetings of the Maine State Society. 
    She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, William Flora, in 2001. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Carl and Paula Flora of Presque Isle and Greg and Eileen Flora of Fairfield, CT; sister, Marjorie Dunaway of State College, PA;  five grandchildren, Kate Flora of Kittery, Matthew and Richard Flora of Orono, Jeff and Tommy Flora of Fairfield, CT; and a niece, Carol Irwin, and a nephew, Tom Dunaway of PA.
    Barb’s friends and family will remember her quick laugh and good nature.  She enjoyed flowers, antiques, was an avid reader and was active in politics. She also was a skilled artist with oil and water paints. She especially enjoyed the family camp at Portage Lake.
    Friends called at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Presque Isle Congregational Church where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tim Stohlberg officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery. A reception followed after the burial at the Presque Isle Congregational Church.
