Savage low man at JaTo

A warmup to Thursday’s Penobscot Valley Conference golf championships took place Monday at JaTo Highlands in Lincoln, with Caribou, Presque Isle and John Bapst competing.

The Vikes’ Dayne Savage shot a 44 to lead his team, which defeated John Bapst in a tie-breaker to finish second in the competition. PI won it with a 154, with both Caribou and Bapst tying at 189.

Rounding out the list of Caribou scorers were Cory Rideout (48), Tyler Dombroski (48), Connor Thibeault (49), Katie Pelletier (49), Donovan Savage (51) and Justin Ouellette (53).

Three players broke 40 for the Wildcats, including Michael Boone with a 37 and Adam Flynn, who posted a 38.

Last Wednesday, Caribou had a regular season match at Houlton against the Shires.

Houlton scored a 171-194 victory.

For the Vikings, Thibeault led the way with a 44 and Dayne Savage carded a 47. Dombroski followed with a 51, Rideout posted a 52 and Donovan Savage shot a 53.
