Whitten, Roberta, 80, of Hudson, N.H., on November 18, 2012. A celebration of Bert’s life will take place next summer. Arrangements are in the care of the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, Hudson.
HUDSON, NH – Roberta “Bert” Whitten, 80 of Hudson, NH passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.
She was born October 4, 1932 in Caribou, ME, daughter of the late Ralph and Meta (Powell) Smith. Bert was also predeceased by her husband, Lawrence “Ike” Whitten in 2006, a son, Peter Whitten in 1980, and a daughter, Kristi Whitten in 1973. She was also predeceased by two brothers, James Smith and Richard Powell.
Bert loved shopping and taking rides in the woods. She enjoyed fishing and winning while playing cards. Her greatest joy was found when spending time with her family.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Whitten and his wife, Terry of Litchfield, NH, Scott Whitten and his wife, Louise of Londonderry, NH, Mark Whitten and his fiance, Susanna Casey of West Townsend, MA, Chuck Whitten and his significant other, Kristen Dziegiel of Hudson; two daughters, Lori Lambert and her husband, Robert of Hudson, NH, Ann Tierney and her husband, Pete of Port St. Lucie, FL; as well as eight grandchildren, Nick, Brooke, Blair, Alexandra, Paige, Victoria, Zachary, and Cody as well as by a sister, Jackie Aucoin of Caribou, ME and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Following cremation, a celebration of Bert’s life will take place next summer. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bert’s loving memory to Aroostook Area Agency on Aging c/o Nutrition Program, P.O. Box 1288, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
