Holiday donations needed

in greater Mapleton area

MAPLETON NEWS

by Jennifer Buzza

The tri-community of Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill, in conjunction with the Town Office, is collecting items for local families this holiday season. According to Deputy Town Clerk Sue Skidgell, officials are collecting items with a “night-night” theme in mind. Donations of pillowcases have already been made, so other items to complete the gift baskets are needed.

Suggestions include pillows, toothbrushes, toothpaste, children’s pajamas (size 12 months to size 10), books, small cuddle blankets/quilts, as well as wrapping paper and large gift bags. Donations can be dropped off at the Town Office by Friday, Dec. 14.

In addition to what community members donate for the “night-night” baskets, towns will also receive some donations from the annual Toys for Tots campaign. Towns receiving toys sort donations by age and gender. Boxes are then filled for the local families in need. If any family has a need, they should contact the Mapleton Town Office by Wednesday, Dec. 12.
