Brewer, Dathaline, 83, of Caribou, on November 26, 2012.  Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.


AR Dathaline BrewerCaribou — All the angels in Heaven rejoiced November 26, 2012, as they welcomed their beautiful new angel, Dathaline “Day” Brewer to her new home. She was born in Washburn, October 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Thomas and Beulah (Haines) Patterson. Mrs. Brewer was a graduate of Washburn High School as well as the Aroostook State Normal School. She was an elementary school teacher in Caribou and she married Vaughn “Bud” Brewer August 6, 1952. Following her marriage, Day devoted all of her time and attention to her family and she was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She always put the needs of others well before her own. She was also very active in her community where she was a member of the Henry P. Pratt Post 15 American Legion and the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliaries. Day was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Beulah Burgess Mission Circle, she also attended the First Baptist Church of Woodland. She was a member of the Caribou Historical Society, the Aroostook RSVP and spent countless hours as a volunteer at Cary Medical Center. Many will fondly remember Day as “Mrs. Claus” when she and Bud “Santa” brought many a smile to young and old alike during the Christmas season in Caribou.

Surviving in addition to her husband of over 60 years, Bud of Caribou; are her son, Thomas Brewer and his wife, Mary of Presque Isle; her daughters, Barbara Davis of Caribou and Karen Kovach and her husband, Dennis of Woodland; one sister, Muriel “Pat” LeVasseur of Presque Isle; her grandchildren, Kylie Davis Hessert and her husband, Anthony, Adam Davis, Joshua and Jessika Kovach and Garrett and Brandon Brewer; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, www.mocklerfuneralhome.com. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Thursday from the Caribou United Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Johnson and Rev. Ron Rosser, officiating. Interment was in the Riverside Extension Cemetery.
