Sorority looks to 2013
Maine Epsilon Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held its Nov. 15 meeting at the home of Nancy Nichols. Gail Clukey was the co-hostess.
The service committee presented plans for upcoming community service projects the chapter will sponsor. Refreshments were served by Judy Kenney, Tammy Walton and Gail Clukey.
The December meeting was held on Dec. 13 at the home of chapter president Pam Palm. Appetizers were served by the social committee preceding the business meeting.
Chapter members brought donations for the local GIFT food pantry and toiletry items for the homeless shelter. It was voted to donate a holiday food basket to a family in need and to send a monetary donation to the Kiwanis Club to assist with their Christmas basket project.
The service committee will purchase Christmas gifts for the children staying at the Sister Mary O’Donnell homeless shelter.
Following the meeting, the social committee served delicious desserts, and a Yankee gift swap was enjoyed by all. The next meeting will be on Jan. 19, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library.
