CARIBOU – Ronald Scott Melbourne, 46, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at home with his family by his side. Ron was born in St. Petersberg, FL, the son of Earl and Lillian (Deaton) Melbourne. Ron served proudly in the U.S. Air Force for many years, and later with DFAS in Limestone.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lisa (Patten); his children: Stephen M. Melbourne of Caribou, Zachary V. Jones of Maxwell AFB, AL, and Courtney E. Jones of Jacksonville NAS, FL. He also leaves behind his brother, Butch Melbourne and his wife, Nancy of AZ; his mother-in-law, Rachel (Parent) Patten; his brother-in-law, Scott Patten; his granddaughter, Riley Jones; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; and two great-aunts, Carolyn and Lois. He will also be especially missed by his close friends, Bobby Arsenault, Troy Howlett, Troy Whitehead, Darrell Sterling, Ron Rosser and Bill Andrews. In addition, he will be missed by his “furry children”, dogs, Sydney, Addie and Joey.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Mayberry and his father-in-law, Jeffrey Patten.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, March 9, from 9-11 a.m. at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., the Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. A reception will follow the services at the Limestone Country Club. There will be a private interment at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou at a later date.
