    HOULTON & SMYRNA – Althea Verna Lloyd, 94, died March 2, 2013, at a local healthcare facility. She was born August 3, 1918, at Smyrna Mills, the daughter of Clyde and Stella (Miller) Brown.
    Althea was an active member of the Smyrna Methodist Church and the Oakfield Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Rebekahs and was past Noble Grand and past District Deputy. Althea enjoyed bowling on many teams. She worked at the court house, Goldies Shop, Chadwicks Florist and was a driver of RSVP.
    Althea is survived by her three daughters, Filene McKenney and her husband, Harold, of Westbrook, Verna Smith and her husband, David, of Aiken, SC, Bonnie Ropiak and her husband, Robert, of New Britain, CT; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Elwood Lloyd, and her son, Cecil.
