    Higgins, Donna, 64, February 23, 2013.  Calling hours to be held from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Reception will be held after the services at the Dyer Brook Community Church.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.

    PT Donna HigginsDYER BROOK – Donna Higgins, 64, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, after fighting a tough battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 21, 1948, in Ipswich, Mass., the daughter of Clayton and Dorothy (Clark) Gaspar.
    Donna loved her dog, Pork Chop, watching horses, the buffalo in Smyrna and the deer and moose that came in the back 40, playing her card game of Spite and Malice, riding snowsleds, helping people in need and especially loved her grandchildren. She was a member of the Knowles Corner ATV and Smoki-Hauler Snowmobile Club, where she enjoyed pot luck suppers and especially the Yankee Swap Christmas party. Donna worked for Ward Log Homes about 12 years cleaning the offices. She also cleaned house for three other people.
    She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Barry Higgins of Dyer Brook; her children, Herbert Fuller Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Derry, N.H., and children, Shyanne, Skylar and Herbie III, Amy Fuller of Boston and Wendy Fuller and her friend, Robert Carson, of Amesbury, Mass., and children, Samantha, Jarod and Olivia; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Jeffrey Higgins and his wife, Debbie, of Olatha, Kan., Mark Higgins and his wife, Ailene, of Deltona, Fla., Andrea Logan and her husband, William, and Michelle Elton and her husband, Michael, all of Olatha, Kan.; siblings, Edward Gaspar of Wakefield, N.H., Joanne Leville and George of Lakeville and Linda Eaton and Butch of Orville, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Sandy Wyman and Bill of Dyer Brook and Bonnie Maskery and Paul of Bristol, Conn.; brother-in-law, Ed Smith and Janet of Ervine, Texas; a special nephew, Scott Maskery and Jenny and their children; several other nieces and nephews; special cousin, Vern McLaughlin and his daughter, Jeannine; special friends, Gerry and Kim Delanoy and their children, Charlie O’Leary, Bill and Leigh Perry; and especially all the members of Smoki-Hauler Snowmobile Club. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Ralph; and a sister, Nancy.
    The family says a special thank you to the Smoki-Haulers. Donna really enjoyed your friendship. She will be missed by all who knew her. A special thanks to the staff at Madigan Estates for the tender care she received while she was there.
    Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Andy Harthorne officiating. After the services, there will be a reception and refreshments at Dyer Brook Community Church.
